Claiming Your Nonprofit’s Profile on Every.org
To find and claim your organization’s profile, go to: https://www.every.org/nonprofits/get-started and type your organization’s EIN into the search bar.
After finding your organization and clicking continue, you will be prompted to create a free Every.org account to claim your organization’s profile. Please allow 2-3 business days for your request to be reviewed.
Building Out Your Every.org Profile
Once you’ve been approved as an admin for your organization’s Every.org profile, please take a few minutes to review and update all of your organization’s information. Log in to Every.org, go to your Nonprofit dashboard, and click on “Profile.”
From the “Profile” tab, you can upload your organization’s logo, add a cover photo, provide additional information, include social media handles, and update your organization’s Every.org URL. You can also add a custom thank-you message that will be included in the donor's tax receipt.
Tips
Make sure you have an up-to-date profile picture and cover photo.
Use Every.org’s rich text feature to bold, link, and format options for your description.
Create a custom thank-you message highlighting the impact of each dollar you receive.
Include your social media channels. That way, whenever a donor shares their donation on Every.org to their social media channels, your organization automatically gets tagged.
Setting Up Direct Deposit
Once you’re an admin, Every.org recommends receiving grants by adding your bank account directly using Stripe. This eliminates disbursement fees and ensures you receive your funds every Monday. If you do not have a Stripe account, you will be asked to create one when you click “Add bank” under the Settings tab. If you already have a Stripe account, you may link a subaccount and do not need to create a new one.
Stripe is PCI-compliant and houses all of your sensitive information. Please note that Stripe will ask a series of questions to prevent fraud, comply with financial regulations, and ensure we are sending donations to the correct place. Personal information is not shared with Every.org employees. Stripe has PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification available in the payment industry. Please allow 1-2 business days for our team to review and approve your Stripe application.
No Hidden Fees
Additionally, as a nonprofit, Every.org does not not charge a platform fee or take a cut of your donations. Instead, Every.org is supported by philanthropic grants and optional tips from donors. There are third-party processing fees, which range from 0% to 3.5%, depending on the donor’s payment method. For more information about transaction fees and disbursement options please go here.
Accessing Donor Information
To view and download donor information, click on the “Donations” tab. From there, you can download donor information by clicking “Download.” Click the “Filter” button to view donation information by date range or payment method or to see which donations are tied to a fundraising campaign.
By default, donors share their information with the organization. However, they can opt out of sharing their personal information with the organization, in which case you will see “Anonymous Donor” when accessing donor information.
Managing Admins and Notifications
Multiple people can have administrative access to your organization’s Every.org profile. You can invite a person by clicking the “Add Admins” under the “Admin users” from your Settings tab. There is no limit to how many people you can invite. Please note that all admins will have the same level of access, including access to edit your organization’s profile page, access to donor information, and updating bank information. To remove an administrator, click the “X” on the right-hand side of their email address.
To change any notifications you would like to receive from Every.org, from your “Settings” tab, scroll to the “Notification Settings” underneath “Admin Users.” There, you will have options to adjust what type of notifications you would like to receive, including when a disbursement has been sent, new donations, and new fundraisers created by donors.
How to Create a Donate Button for Your Website
After claiming your organization’s profile, you can create a donate button that can be added to your website. To do that, go to “Settings” and click “Create button.”
Next, choose which donation methods you want to offer.
After selecting the types of donation methods and clicking “Next,” the final page will provide you with two options for embedding on your website—and an additional option to send the instructions to your web developer.
You can use Every.org as your primary solution using the all-in-one donate button or use Every.org to supplement your current fundraising strategies and work alongside any existing donation methods on your site. It’s entirely up to you!
How to Start a Fundraising Campaign
In addition to diversifying your donation methods, you can also create campaigns by navigating to the “Fundraisers” tab in your Admin Dashboard.
Tips
If it’s your first time creating a fundraising campaign, ask yourself if the goal is realistic with the resources you have available. Alternatively, you can test the waters with Every.org’s “Smart Milestone” goal to gauge how much your community can raise without a specific target.
Include a custom thank-you message explicitly tied to the campaign, highlighting the story and intended impact. This message can differ from the one donors receive from your general donation link or button.
